On a June night in Dublin, the Republicans and the Free Straters were at War with one another. Without knowing, a sniper from the Republicans killed his own brother in battle.
The Republican sniper was shot by a Free Strater
which killed his forearm. To take down the Free Strater who shot him, the
sniper made a decoy plan which was to trick the Free Strater into giving up his
location.
He disguised his hat like a person and dropped his
sniper to the ground when the Free Strater had thought he had killed his enemy,
as soon as the Free Strater gave up his location, the Republican sniper had a
great opportunity to shoot his enemy. There was a 45 metre distance between the
two men, but the Republican sniper managed to shoot down his enemy with his
pistol.
When the sniper went to view the enemy’s body on the
ground, one of the other soldiers who was with him in battle stated “he was
bitten by remorse, weekend by his wounds and his teeth clattered”. This was due
to the cause of him not knowing he had killed his own brother who he called a
good shot.
